Data & Training Limitations: For AI in BIM to be effective, it requires extensive datasets. These datasets should cover real-world architectural rules, best practices, and contextual information. While AI tools like MidJourney can generate visually appealing designs, they often overlook factors such as gravity, accessibility, and constructability.
Different Goals: Photoshop’s AI capabilities don't need to adhere to strict rules; they simply need to look good. Revit, on the other hand, requires precision and coordination with engineering disciplines. A misplaced staircase in a sketch may be one thing, but in a Revit model, it could result in significant real-world problems.
The Real Value: Dreaming, Framing & De-Risking
